The aim of quantum computing to hit the target of reading human brain activity is a cornerstone of transhumanism (translating the subject as an object, reimagining humanity as an internet of things). For the military/pharma/state/corporate nexus, human sensing becomes a battleground. Yet, the transitioning of humanity to something hybrid is immediately an area of struggle and warfare.

When human beings eat, work, play, sleep of fight together, they are connected – whether they love or hate one another. As soon as a piece of technology is introduced into the sensing of connection, from a pen to a brain scanner, the quality of the connection becomes removed by degree from complete reality. Human perception, being a filtering device, is already functioning as a limiter of reality. The application of a technological device when connecting to another human soul further fictionalises that interaction. Genuine human interaction carries the hue of collective mythologies. Interfaced human connection induces the archetypal seance function of communicating with those from ‘beyond the veil’ – with the dead. Thus, technological connectivity erodes the liveliness from the living, who eat, sleep, work and play in this connected state.

The interfaced seance function carries with it the feeling that no-one at all is ‘out there’ and that the act of connection is a fraud. Like the Native American who prophetically believed that photography would take away their soul, the digitised, fragmented and decentralised composites of human connections and their traces leave the original version hollowed out, jig sawed, with pieces missing. The interfaced seance function is bidirectional in its demythologising, although it cannot be said to be an agent for dehumanisation – even worse, it declassifies humanity by replacing the discontinuous person with logs, timestamps, comments, location data, transaction ledgers, facial patterns, etc. So far, alienation has been a critical mechanism of human degradation, now the pressure on humanity is from subjective fragmentation, where the perception of the self can never be sufficient because the reclassified self exists in a decentralised way.

Connection means nothing without disconnection, even if that exists in a potential form. Being potentially connected 24/7 means that disconnection is negated by default. The impact of this upon human-to-human-in-vicinity connection can be seen. The echoes and programming of the interfaced seance function run their sub-routines in conversations. If one is attuned to true human connection on a spiritual level, the sense of talking to an NPC is overwhelming. Communicating with the heart becomes a seditious act against those for whom the interfaced seance function serves to declassify humanity for their own eschatological ends.
